Safety equipment: work safely with Zenjob

For some of our jobs, you need specific safety equipment to protect you from accidents at the workplace. You can only do such jobs if you have the necessary equipment. Find out how you can get it for free.

How to get our safety equipment

In order to receive our free safety equipment, you must first apply for a job that requires it. Once you have received your booking confirmation, you can get the equipment for free. How you do this depends on how much time you have before your shift starts.

Your job begins within 3 days

If your shift begins in less than 3 days, you have to buy the safety equipment yourself. We will reimburse you for your purchase afterwards.

    Buy the equipment at a hardware store. Make sure it meets all requirements (e.g., safety shoes must meet the S3 norm).

    Upload your receipt. Please note our conditions for full reimbursement.

    We will update your profile to show you more jobs requiring safety equipment in your app.

    You’ll be reimbursed with the payment of your outstanding wages by the middle of the following month.

Conditions for reimbursement

  • We will reimburse the following amounts for safety equipment bought at a hardware store or specialist shop:

    • Safety shoes: up to €30
    • Protective gloves: up to €2.
    • Reflective vest: up to €4
    • Hard hat: up to €9

    • Amazon bills
    • Bills from online shops

Your job begins in 4 days or more

If your shift begins in 4 business days or more, you can order the safety equipment for free in our online shop.

    Once you’ve been booked for a job, we’ll email you a personalised link to give you access to our online shop.

    Please enter your address in our online shop and double-check that it’s correct.

    For safety shoes: our shoes usually run large. Take a look at our size chart to find out your correct shoe size.

    Once we’ve processed your order, you’ll receive a confirmation with a tracking link. Your equipment should arrive within 4 business days.

    We will update your profile to show you more jobs requiring safety equipment in your app.

  • We will email you a personalised link to give you access to our online shop. You will only receive the link if you have been booked for a job that requires security equipment and takes place in at least 4 business days, and if you don’t already own the required safety equipment.

  • Once we have processed your order, you will receive a tracking link. If you have any questions about the delivery, it is best to contact the parcel service. It usually takes 3 to 4 business days from order to delivery.

  • This safety norm is only met if the following points apply:

    • The shoes have a closed heel.
    • They have a composite or steel toecap.
    • They are ankle high.
    • They have a cleated outsole that is oil and petrol resistant.
    • The sole must be puncture-proof.
    • The shoes must be water resistant.
    • The shoes must be antistatic.

    Dr Martens or hiking boots do not qualify as S3 safety shoes.

  • No, we require a thermal paper receipt for reimbursement (e.g., from a hardware store or specialist shop). We will refund the following amounts:

    • Safety shoes: up to €30
    • Protective gloves: up to €2
    • Reflective vest: up to €4
    • Hard hat: up to €9
  • You will receive the reimbursement along with your outstanding wages by the middle of the following month. For example, if you submit a receipt on March 1, the reimbursement will be credited to your account by April 15.

  • If your safety shoes don’t fit, you have to return them to us. Request the return in our online shop under “My account” and click “Return item”. Please note that the returned shoes must be in their original condition. It’s best to take a few steps inside your home to ensure they fit.
